Refund Policies

Blades by Brown Cutlery wants our customers to be satisfied with any product purchased from us. Generally, we do not accept returns except for items that may be received damaged. However, if you feel that you do need to return a product, you must contact us first for resolution within 15 days of the date of order or pre-order. We will discuss the issuance of a Return Merchandise Authorization and instruct you as to how the item may be shipped back to us. If a return is authorized, all packaging materials (including Wrapping, inner boxes, instructions, plaques, mounting hardware and certificates) must be returned with the item. If all packaging is not returned then a credit for the purchase cannot be issued to you. Also please note that a 15% restocking fee will apply to all items returned. Shipping and Handling charges are not refundable.

For your convenience, we have several ways for you to order:

To Order via the Internet

Once you have located your item click on the “Order” button and follow the instructions. Shipping will be automatically calculated for you based on the item selected. If you make an error or wish to reduce the quantity for an item you are ordering, please change the quantity in the quantity block and click on the “re-calculate” button at the bottom of the order screen. Also note that if you intend to pay by credit card on-line, we can only ship to the cardholder's address. No third party Internet orders can be accepted. If you have the need for a shipment to a third party address you must call the store at 336-778-1469. Be prepared to email us a separate authorization for a third party address shipment.

To Order by Fax

If you prefer not sending your credit card info over the Internet, you can fax us your order at 336-778-1409. Include shipping, handling, and sales tax, if applicable. Print our order form to fax with your order. To calculate shipping for a fax order utilize the Internet ordering system but be certain to clear the form when finished.

To Order by Mail

If you would like to send your order via mail, please print our order form, fill it in, and mail it with your cashiers check or money order for your total plus shipping, handling, and sales tax, if applicable, to:

To calculate shipping for a mail order, utilize the Internet ordering system but be certain to clear the form when finished.

To Order by Phone

Due to security concerns, we cannot accept credit card information via email. If you prefer to call in your order by phone instead of using our secure site, you may call us during our store hours.

Payment options available

For US orders, we accept Visa, MasterCard and PayPal online, as well as money orders and cashiers checks by mail. The payment options of credit card, PayPal, and money order will appear in the shopping cart, and US customers may choose any of the three.

For Canadian orders, we accept only international money orders payable in US dollars or wired funds through the Western Union money transfer service. Please note that all attempted international orders using the credit card or PayPal payment option without authorization will be cancelled as an invalid order. Such invalid orders will be charged a 5% invalid order fee, to cover the costs incurred by us to purge the invalid order. We will refund only 95% of the total of an invalid international order.

Additional Information

Please make all money orders, cashiers checks, and Western Union wires payable to Blades by Brown Cutlery.

We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. Please give your street address for the shipping address when ordering.

Regarding PayPal acceptance

To our many customers both overseas and within the United States, we must advise you that we will no longer be able to accept PayPal for pre-order deposits. We will continue to accept PayPal for full payment and for payment of a balance due.

By placing an order, you accept the following terms

I certify that I am at least 18 years of age. I understand that I am ordering an item that may be made of sharpened steel, and that Blades by Brown Cutlery will not be held responsible for any injuries from the item. I certify that I have checked with customs and law enforcement in my country, and that import and possession of the item I am ordering does not violate any laws in my country. I understand that my country may impose duties on merchandise, for which I am solely responsible. I acknowledge that if the item that I am ordering is refused by customs, and therefore undeliverable, I remain responsible for shipping costs, including return shipping and handling.
